Who are we?
theMediaFlow is an award-winning search and social media marketing agency. We only do online marketing and specialise in search and social media marketing for our clients.
We are a small and growing company, wholly owned by the directors and are profitable; generating 200% year-on-year growth.
We're based in Alton, Hampshire.
What do we do?
We provide technical and creative marketing services to businesses who market their products online. We make sure that websites are constructed in such a way that search engine crawlers can crawl the website, access the content, understand the content and rank it accordingly for the search queries appropriate to the products and the page references.
We also help our clients understand how to use social media to communicate with potential customers and will help create strategies for doing so.
What's the job?
A full-time trainee-level Search Engine Optimizer (SEO) role is now available and full on-the-job training will be provided however you will need to be:
- Proficient in HTML
- Additional programming skills considered a bonus
- Proficiency with Excel is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
- Ability to learn quickly and on occasion without direction
- Good grasp of using search engines
- Good grasp of social media (this is one job where we encourage you to spend all day on Facebook and Twitter)
- Good English skills and the ability to write well is considered essential
- Good understanding of Maths, statistics and principles of data analysis is desirable
Who are you?
You are a first or second job-seeker with good GCSE's (Grades A-C), with good A-level or similar college level qualifications (or predicted grades.) A degree is not essential but graduate applications will be prioritised. Ideally you are ambitious and self-motivated with a real passion for the web. You should understand how computers work, how the internet works and how people make purchase decisions online.
You must be outgoing, personable and professional as well as commercially aware. You need to have a thick skin and an ability to communicate well with potential customers as well as website owners, bloggers and journalists. You must be equally comfortable analysing data one day and contributing to a creative social media campaign the next.
What do you get?
You will be employee number four in an exciting and vibrant start-up. You will be treated as an equal to the directors and will get a say in company decisions and an ability to influence our development and direction. Your initial salary will depend on skills, qualifications and any experience, but will be £12,000 - £16,000 per annum.
You will be provided with a desktop computer and on-the-job training as well as some external training if required, including Microsoft Excel and Google Adwords training; but if there's an area you want to know more about to help you in your role, we will find a course for you.
On successful completion of a probationary period you will qualify for a company pension scheme, plus additional benefits; such as attending conferences where you get to learn and network with leaders in the field of online marketing. In the past year we've travelled to Leeds, Manchester, London, Iceland and Israel.
