Hampshire – 13 September 2012 – Leading SEO agency, theMediaflow and web design agency Superrb are pleased to announce they have been awarded a joint contract from Discover Southampton. Working in partnership, both agencies will undertake web development, user experience optimization and SEO strategy that will form the new Discover Southampton website.

The two primary goals for the new website is to provide an updated portal website to promote the city of Southampton, but to also have a section for tourists (overseas and UK based), residents, students & local businesses – there’ll be a wealth of information for anyone seeking to live, visit, learn, do business in the city as well as sharing some of the vision for the future of the city.

Giuseppe Saieva, Project Manager for Discover Southampton said: “We’re looking forward to users now having the opportunity to get more socially involved through real-time Facebook and Twitter feeds, as well as having access to a wealth of information about what Southampton has to offer.”

Matt Pilkington, MD of Superrb said: “As experienced website developers, our focus is always on making sites easy to use and providing information to visitors in an engaging and accessible way”.

Work on the project has already commenced and the new Discover Southampton website is due to be launched in quarter four 2012.

It’s been a busy end to the summer at theMediaFlow house, as the website we promised ourselves last year that would be ready by February was finally born. It’s been a fairly busy summer for us with some additional client projects taking us into some new and exciting areas and our own website was being consistently relegated to the bottom of the pile. As we’d grown so our had our client base, and our achievements and the old website was not a true reflection of the organisation we have become.

We decided we had to take on external help so that we could continue to serve our clients as well as re-launch our own website and so we turned to Dan Taylor of SEOwned. We’ve known Dan for some years and had always been impressed by his affable and inquisitive nature and his can-do attitude. Dan is one of those great people that can turn their hand to anything in order to get the job done. We wanted Dan to re-build the site with some additional features and more varied page templates, plus elaborate on the previous design by Katy Bairstow, incorporating some great themes we’d used from FHOKE for a display advertising campaign over the Q2/3 period. We also needed Dan to understand our SEO requirements and instantly understand where we were going with our instructions and content plan and run with it. Boy, did he run with it!

We’d also like to thank our secret weapon graphics-designer who designed all the little characters and themes to illustrate our core services. I particularly like this one:

Finally we would like to thank Christeen, who charted the optimal launch date and time for the site according to the new moon.

Thanks to everyone involved in the project including Pete for putting in the extra hours in proofing and project managing design and development aspects with Dan, and again huge props to Dan for going the extra mile.

We loved working with ya fella!

SEO and digital agency, theMediaFlow have been named as a finalist in this year’s Wirehive 100 ‘One To Watch’ award.

The Wirehive 100 Digital Agency League table and Awards have been specially created to ensure that the excellent interactive work that is being created by up-coming agencies and the agencies themselves in the out-of-London south/south east area are truly recognised.
“We are proud to be a Wirehive One to Watch finalist,” said Nichola Stott, MD of online marketing and SEO agency theMediaFlow. “As founder and MD, you always believe what you’re doing is exciting and game changing, but to get independent acknowledgement from your community is a great validation, that we are clearly on the right track.”
Robert Belgrave from Wirehive 100, said: “There’s so much great digital work being produced by agencies in the south/south east of England that we wanted to give them a platform to show that you don’t have to be based in London to be at the sharp end of digital brilliance! We wanted to create a league table for the best 100 digital agencies in the qualifying region and an awards event to reward their best work.”
He continued: “theMediaFlow were shortlisted in our One To Watch category due to impressive results in their first two years of trading, compounded by an experienced board of directors and Nichola’s outstanding contribution to the SEO industry.”
The awards night will be held on 13th September 2012 at Mercedes Benz World, Weybridge.

theMediaFlow were hired by iAnnounce to review current organic search performance to identify if there was any room for improvement.

Within six weeks of implementing the changes recommended by theMediaFlow organic search traffic grew 18%, with Google traffic increasing at an even greater rate of 20%. It is worth noting that existing levels of organic search traffic were already considerable therefore a 20% increase post-recommendations is a very significant number in absolute terms.
