The Business

Operating globally, Wiggle is the UK's number one online bike shop and tri-sport specialist. With a small, but skilled and experienced team, the company was already performing well against more established competition when approaching theMediaFlow.

Wiggle operates a huge suite of websites across numerous languages, currencies and markets. Along with this, the complex ecommerce structure of the site presented many challenges including millions of filter parameter combinations for product variables.

The Results

Implementing our recommendations yielded huge levels of online growth for Wiggle. The number of keywords for which the business ranked between positions one and three on Google's results pages increased by 180%, whilst the organic keywords they ranked for rose 140%. These contributed to an overall SEO Visibility rise of 43%, according to SearchMetrics.

The Business

A HIPPOBAG is a convenient alternative solution to hiring a traditional skip. The incredibly strong bag comes in three sizes and is purchased flat-packed either via the website or in DIY stores. Customers simply buy the bag, fill it up with waste, then book a collection with the use of one of HIPPO's collection vehicles.

The Challenge

Hiring a skip is the go-to solution for most consumers with large household waste and renovation projects, meaning that the HIPPOBAG - whist a superior option in many ways - was not the obvious solution for many potential customers. For this reason, supporting brand awareness and generating new customers was agreed upon as the best way to grow the company online.

The Tactics

Following an extensive technical audit and programme of structural readiness, focus turned to improving on-site content. Changes functioned to explain product use-cases, as well as demonstrating the advantages of a HIPPOBAG over a traditional skip. This simultaneously helped search engines and users understand how the product is equitable to skip hire.

The Results

153% increase in organic search traffic for the year ending April 2014, with sales up 142%. The campaign also won Best Use of Search at the Wirehive Awards 2013 and Best Use of Search – Retail at the 2013 UK Search Awards.

The Business

Mercury Holidays is a leading provider of holidays; including all-inclusive, singles and escorted tours. Holidays available range from short-haul European locations to as far afield as Australasia and South East Asia. Holidays are carefully selected and sold direct, meaning excellent value and customer service.

The travel industry is extremely competitive, and particularly so in search. Not only does Mercury Holidays compete with long established, very large holiday companies, but also with travel review sites, booking engines and more.

Following a thorough technical audit and backlink analysis piece, we implemented HREFlang solutions between the UK and IE websites. In addition, we integrated the company blog into the site to improve user experience and increase conversions.

We then evolved content strategy to focus on the best things to see and do at destinations offered by Mercury Holidays, in order to encourage and engage customers.

The Results

Although the site was doing well when we started the project in 2013, there was a 16.5% growth in organic search traffic to year end April 2014. Crucially, this growth was driven by pages outside of the home page, upon which sales were up 23% in the same period.
