In 2009, with an initial investment of around £2,000 our founder and managing director Nichola Stott launched theMediaFlow driven by a passion for search marketing and a desire to offer a truly rounded and sophisticated online marketing solution. With fifteen years experience in online communications including six in the public relations industry and most recently five years at Yahoo! as head of UK search partners, Nichola wanted to create an agency that would offer cutting edge technical SEO solutions combined with creative online marketing strategies.
A reputation for quality and credibility was quickly established and last year theMediaFlow was shortlisted for Best Use of Search – Retail, in the UK Search Awards and was the youngest business amongst all finalists. In 2011 Peter Handley joined the senior team as SEO Director, with responsibility for client strategy and direction and was chosen for his committment to best-practises in organic search marketing, as well as his constant enthusiasm and contributions to the SEO industry. The senior team are complemented by a roster of the best industry specialists, chosen on a project-by-project basis for their specific skills and specialisms meaning you get the best in the business working for you.
In 2012 theMediaFlow features as an approved provider in the Econsultancy SEO Agency Buyers Guide, which is an invitation-only guide, extended to agencies of credibility and proven track record.
Nichola Stott – managing director
Nichola has over a decade of experience in online communications, and has worked for some of worlds’ largest digital communications businesses, including five years at PR Newswire, where Nichola was responsible for training and product development of the Online MEDIAtlas PR database; a tool to assist public relations professionals to identify and communicate with relevant global media.
On joining Yahoo! in 2005 as senior search business development manager, Nichola fell in love with search – finding a natural aptitude for the search business, and was soon promoted to head of UK commercial search partners; leaving in March 2009 to found theMediaFlow.
Following the launch of theMediaFlow in May 2009, Nichola quickly established a reputation as a leading search-industry speaker and writer and is a regular contributor to SearchEngineWatch, SEO-Chicks, Econsultancy and State of Search.
In her spare time, Nichola confesses to being a bit of a fitness-addict and amateur cook; claiming to make the world’s best guacamole. Her favourite film of all time is Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.
Peter Handley – SEO director
Peter is responsible for all client campaigns, strategy and delivery. Working across a range of sectors and managing teams of contributors as well as keeping theMediaFlow blog up to date, Pete can also be found speaking and contributing to industry conferences and events.
Peter has 7 years experience in search engine optimisation. Working on a range of campaigns in both b2b and b2c environments, Pete has worked in the medical, insurance and financial, email marketing sectors and a range of ecommerce stores.
Starting in SEO as a graduate, he quickly rose through the ranks in his previous role, managing and retaining a number of core clients. Peter also spent 3 years running search engine optimisation strategies overseeing a team running well over 100 campaigns.
Pete is also a keen amateur cook and avid film-goer. His favourite movie of all time is Pulp Fiction.
